bearded dragon choked

Hi everyone. today i gave my beardie some water and about 10 minutes later he choked… but he choked bad to the point where he was shaking his head and sticking his tongue out and it looked severely scary. i obviously dont have a video bc i was trying to rush him straight to the pet er… well theres only one pet vet near me since i live in the middle of nowhere and they said that their exotic vet was not here today… hes been acting strangely calm and chill and its kind of scary… i have no idea what to do… please help im terrified for my boys life right now and theres nothing i can do. hes just chilling in my arms right now

Were you soaking him? If he's acting normal he's probably fine. The water may have tasted bad from him being in it. If he choked its probably done by now

it was actually just from me giving him water. it was freshwater. i give it to him through a bottle cap and he is usually fine but today he just choked severely bad. hes acting fine but hes a little too calm. hes never this chill and its scary to me. he also has to shed on the top of his head and he hasnt been able to shed that part for almost a month. i wanna book an appointment for the vet tomorrow if the reptile vet is there

Does he seem lethargic at all? And could there possibly have been something in the water? Make sure you have a water dish in your enclosure also and that whenever he receives water it's dechlorinated

Make sure hes got his head down so the water can drain out of his mouth - have him so hes at a angle not completely downward but at a angle w/ his head down --- it sounds like he aspirated the water which they will do if they drink to fast -- get him under his basking light too ----
