I might sound absolutely insane upon saying this, but my female bearded dragon (Pogona) has turned into a male. She/he has been housed with another female bearded dragon, and they got along great and were very close, however, these past couple of weeks, Pogona has been acting strange--she/he has been acting like a male--blackening and puffing up his/her beard, going crazy around females, and becoming very territorial, all of which he/she had never done before. I know for a fact that she or he was a female because she/he has layed infertile eggs in the past and has bred with a male, and I know that she/he has turned into a male because he/she has attempted to breed with the other female she/he was bred with and I even saw his/her hemipenis. I am insanely shocked and confused. I now have to purchase another tank so that I can separate them, even though they have been living together for around a year now with no complications.
Can any professionals please explain why this has happened?
I study herpetology, and I am a mere beginner, but I do know that this is possible among other reptile species.

Thank you very much,
Forrest

Since I hope to breed my male and female together one day I've done alot of study and research before breeding them and I know when they are in the egg depending on temperature they can change gender I've never heard of a full grown one changing gender lol could you send a picture of her/him with the tail up from behind? I would definitely wait for the vet tech on this one but I'm just assuming maybe your dragon has both sex organs

I believe that as well. I checked under his/her tail to look for sex organs, and I noticed there is both a single large horizontal bump just below the cloaca and two vertical bumps on both sides, so I believe you are correct.
