Hello everyone.. unfortunately I left my cage door a bit too open and my beardie escaped.. came home three hours after and after about 45 minutes of sobbing and searching I found him behind my bookshelf. His back seems straight and he ate and ran around right away. Although I’ve been watching him like a hawke and noticed him breath heavily by opening his mouth and puffing up his beard.. is this normal? I already booked an appointment on the 25th of June to the vet. I looked online and saw it might’ve been a stretch

Could be he was adjusting his body temp- was he doing this under his basking lamp? Its known as gaping- just watch his behavior - he should be eating pooping and basking - make sure his lighting is up to par NO coils for UVB and surface basking temps are being taken w/ a digital probe thermometer
