We have had our bearded for a month. She is very tiny only about 5” long. This morning when we put her light on she didn’t open her eyes. She hasn’t opened them all day and hasn’t eaten. The tank is at 90 degrees. She moved a small amount but is now just lying flat, eyes closed and mouth closed. She does not seem to be breathing. Is she burmating or has she passed?

Sounds like she has passed- babies do not brumate-- where did you get her ? Basking temps should be 105-110 for babies-- I am sorry- I hate to hear things like this- if you decide to get another dragon please disinfect the tank w/ either some rescue or zoo meds wipe out since you don't know what she passed from - dragons can pass diseases also if you want to go over the tank set up before trying again please do - dragons needs specific lighting and temps -

Thank you for responding. I will check her again in the morning. It just happened so quickly. She was active yesterday. I called the vet this morning since she wasn’t opening her eyes and they said to wait it out.

She’s always had a Greyish tint but is still a light brown. I just checked her. She’s soft but not responding. Her eyes are slightly cracked open. We purchased her at petco on 12/31.

I rescued a beardie from petco, those poor animals aren’t taken care of properly, if hes still with us this morning can we see a picture? Lighting and heat are so important at their young age (stay away from coil uvb bulbs they can hurt ur beardies eyes) if hes still kicking try and put a little food on his nose (baby food, veggie purée) he needs liquids aswell (if u can drip some water on the tip of his nose) im sorry you guys are going through this , petcos suck.

Is she still alive? If so go over the UVB your using --- brand and bulb --- coil or tube ? Basking temps like I said should be 105-110 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer ---- I dont know what size tank is she in? You will need to set up a hospital tank ASAP --- like this --------------- if your using a coil bulb you need to replace it ASAP like the one shown in the pic you want a long tube fixture -- I dont know your tank you have her in now but if its a 40 gallon I want you to get a 24" fixture and use the 5.0 bulb that comes w/ it now ---- but you need to act fast -- please get her hydrated -- you will need to syringe feed her water VERY SLOWLY so she does not aspirate --- let her swallow what you put in and get some chkn baby food mix w/ some baby food squash make it so its soupy and syringe feed that as well - try and get 1 ML in her and feed slowly -- it may take two of you to feed her - she sounds like she is very weak ---

Thank you for all your advice Sadie. I believe she has passed. When I checked her around 5 am she still had not moved and I did not see any breathing. I have saved all your recommendations. My 8 year old is heartbroken.

If you want to be sure, you can take her in for a quick ultrasound at the vet. You can also try flipping her over a few times to see if she reacts.
