Me again, I feel like giving my bearded dragon a bath at some point today or this weekend(will be working on stuff for my college recombinant DNA biotechnology class tomorrow) and need tips. I don't bath him that often, last time I did I used my bathroom sink as I have a walk in shower, not a bath tub. I'm not sure how I should bath him or how often. like I said I haven't in 1-2 years. Any tips? Can I wash bearded dragons? if so, how? how should I dry a bearded dragon? I feel like doing while I use the bathroom or just sitting in the bathroom as to watch him to make sure he doesn't drown or get hurt.

Yes, it's actually best to do it about 2 times a week. The water should be no higher than his shoulders, and 85-100 degrees Fahrenheit. You can let him soak for 15-20 minutes. If you want you can clean stuff like dirt off with a soft bristle toothbrush. (Not one that you use) And do not leave him unattended. When you're done, just pat him dry with a rag or towel

I bathe my dragon every Friday, i just use a regular toothbrush :| its fine, just scrub WITH the scales, or side to side, lizards are like cats dont brush up his back, i use this product too its beneficial but expensive, use ur elbow or wrist to check the water temp, you DONT want it hot, just warm.

cool! thanks for the information, I use an electric toothbrush with a spinning top anyway. I'll have to get one the brushes the dentist always gives us to use and explain to mom it's for bathing and cleaning CJ. I live with my parents as I go to a community college(no dorms) and live like 15 minutes away from campus of the community college. I also don't drive, I really don't like driving as it makes my anxiety go through the roof.

I bath mine once every two weeks sometimes less because I can hear bathing too often can be bad for their scales. Just be sure you don't use any soaps and you use 100% water. You can even go the extra mile and add some Repti-Safe to make sure there are no chemicals.

yeah funny thing, I saw this AFTER I finished bathing him, pure tap water in the sink. let me make a quick update via a reply to this post for more details.

Update guys, I just finished bathing CJ and by like 5 minutes in, he was already wanting to get out the water and all I did was rub a toothbrush on him in the directions of his scales. not sure why, maybe it was something about rubbing the toothbrush on his legs and head? but for some reason after about 5 minutes, he was starting to go up the side to the flat countertop, so I saw this and placed a rag in front and he grabbed it and climbed out and then IMMEDIATELY calmed down. not sure what happened, any ideas?

Some of them just don't like baths. Try getting him a wash cloth and setting him on it in the tub so he isn't just slipping and sliding, he will have better grip. It may keep him calm in the bath.

Some people use mini pool floats too i've seen!
