Bath Time issues

We have gotten into a routine if bathing our boy once a week. However, he really hates it. He doesn't poo in it but he dislikes being in the water. We have a tin we put him in to give him space. He tries to escape every chance he gets. We stroke him to calm down but he still does not like it. Water is warm not hot or cold. We try to rub his underside by his funnel as that tends to get dirty from pooping. What techniques does everyone use to bathe and get their dragon to like the water?

When I start my babies in the sink I keep them on my hand so they have something better to hold on to. He may not like the lack of traction so you could also try putting a towel on the bottom of the tin

My boy Mushu hates the bath. He just has to suffer through it until he either poops or I get him cleaned up, depending on why he needed the bath. It seems like nothing makes him enjoy bath time.

Normally mine will thrash around till he gets tired and settles down. I lightly hold his tail while he is trying to escape. Once he is tired and settled down he seems to like it. I leave him in until he poops. I do keep the water between warm and hot but not too hot.

Mine absolutely HATED baths for the first 6 months. Then randomly one day he decided he liked them, and has liked them ever since. So you never know, he may surprise you!

Something I did notice from when he hated baths was that certain bathing containers stressed him out more than others - so maybe try some different kinds. Now he is bigger so I just use the bathtub.

Yep at first my female hated the bath but now she loves getting her soak, my male loves being in the bath! I didn't have success using a container so when they were little I could get away with using the bathroom sink but now that they are adults I have to use the kitchen sink.. They get baths every 3 days unless they need it sooner.. It's important to help clean them up, help with shed, it's where both of mine poop neither of them will go in their tanks.
