What wattage are you using for your basking lamp? I read that halogen flood lights are recommended, but what wattage?
Also, can anyone give me an approx diameter of the fixture for your basking lamp?
I am constructing my own enclosure with wood......
I haven't bought my lamp yet but am cutting a hole for a screen so the lamp can sit on that.

I use a 100w halogen but mine is fixed to the inside, once warmed up they usually run at about 50% power depending on outside temps. I have 150w spares ready for when winter arrives, though I doubt the extra wattage is needed. As you will have to adjust temperatures by raising/lowering your lamp, dont buy anything too powerful or you may never get your temps under control(its an enclosed environment). 40$ or so would get you a thermostatic micro climate controller, which dims your basking light when your viv reaches the temp you set (UV goes on a timer), takes all of the guess work out it just uses the wattage needed to maintain the temp
