Basking light on 24/7

I have a bearded dragon as a classroom pet. I have an 8 outlet timer and keep my guy on a 14/10 light cycle. I just brought him home for spring break and noticed that all of the cords were plugged in on the side that is not timed. I don't know if this was done by a student, custodian, or was an error on my part, but I'm concerned about what consequences this may have on his health. The longest this may have been going on is 2 1/2 months, since that's when I brought him back to school after Winter Break. He's less than a year old, but is almost there (I'm guessing). He's 18 inches long and a big boy. He seems healthy enough, but I'm concerned about what I may not be noticing. What harm could the basking light being on 24/7 cause?

I've done that before but luckily because I was home, I caught it right away. If you had a hide in his tank, it's possible he may have went into his hide at night to get away from the sun. They need a cool down period at night to kinda regulate their body. Just start him on the right schedule ASAP. If his lights were on 24/7 you may have noticed him being lethargic, hiding, refusing food, or cranky because he wasn't getting enough sleep. When you take him back to school make sure you put a note on the timer so nobody touches it!
