Yes that and squash baby food too. Just a dab here and there, should help interest in the salad. You can also "bury" some phoenix worms too. Moving salads will interest the baby hopefully enough to snack on the veggies while finding the worms
Janie.
Baby food is typically used when your beardie is sick and not eating or for impaction.
Keep in mind that babies do not typically eat their salad. Some tricks that you can try are to put their favorite veggies (most love butternut squash) in a mound. Then pile your greens on top. They will most likely eat some of the greens to get to the squash.
Also, offer it about an after hour after lights are on. Definitely before crickets.
When a beardie reaches 1 year old, salad will be their daily staple. Until then, it should be offered daily, but will not always be eaten daily.
Dragon isnt a baby. I think he's about a year and a half. The people at the pet store never fed him greens only crickets once a week. The only thing he will eat is live feeders and i don't think he's eating enough of them either. I will have to try squash. And just keep offering hopefully he'll catch on soon. Are superworms ok for him too? He could really use something faty as he is a little skinny.
Yay! I just got Dragon some superworms and he ate about 8 of them. Is that too many? He also got a taste of the greens. He spit them out tho. But at least he tasted them. ;D
my dragon wont eat any sort of vegie or salad i put in there is that because it dosent move?
im going to try the squash baby food and see what happends does this mean anything that he wont eat it or is it just because they are used to it moving?
It is hard to get most babies to eat their salad. You will see improvement when your beardie is an adult. This should not persuade you from offering it daily. Try and give salad before you give proteins. Beardies tend to be hungry and will eat anything. You can also wave a piece of green, like collard green to get your beardie to go after it.
I've heard of getting a clip for a piece of green and attaching it to the viv. I've never tried that though.
You can gut load your feeders with greens. Crickets, roaches suppers, they will all eat greens. They eat the greens poopers eat the bugs, second hand greens.
