Baby Arrived Late

She finally got here at 7-30 and she is very stressed over her car ride and also very hungry, she's been misted, had 1/2 big bowl of greens, and I am going back up to give her more.I am going to keep her up late due to her eating late. Her tummy was very hollow and the prior owner said she had some salad today.And she is also in shed which don't help her any but it's not affecting her appitite [sp] any. She's just a normal coloured beardie but I do see a little yellow and she has a very tiny nip on her tail you can hardly notice it.And all her nails are jet black. She may be a snow dragon I will see after her shed is over.Well that's all for now-river-7

that poor baby is still eating and watching me and she's literally starving the women that had her said she ate a lot of greens that was because she's starving for bugs.She is still eating and watching now she has went to her cool side of the tank and she is looking like she wants to sleep and she's not going to the hot side at all. Maybe that is why she's tiny as they fed her a lot of greens and no bugs. She said she had a salad this morning. I guess they were feeding her greens as it's cheaper then bugs.So I gave her d-3-and vitamins combined she looks like she needs it and she stays away from the uvb/uva. bulb as the women told me they didn't need it. ok!!!! what a joke.So the baby has not had uvb. When I misted her she just stood still and let me do it and I gave her a good misting until morning then big bath.She kind of relaxed a bit and stood very still-I guess it felt good to her and I see shed on her whole body that needs to come off. So big bath in the am. I will give her time to adjust until tomorrow and then I will hydate her good.Poor baby all stressed from car ride here and now a new home and her other 2-siblings are gone she probably don't know what's happening except there is lots of food to eat. her little belly is popped right out-so I think she's full lol. Doe's my heart good to see her full. Some people man I don't want to say on a forum. I really hope she don't sleep after not digesting her food as it is late so I am trying to keep her awake until she goes under the uvb/uva bulb which I don't think she will make it. I think starting first thing I will have to train her to eat at proper times. And that should be a bit of a challenge, as she and her sister and brother were in a 10-gallon tank. Boy lucky she only has a little nip on her tail and it doe's look healed.Ok will update again tomorrow-river-7

Poor thing, glad she's in your care now. Sounds like she needs a good bath to hydrate and help with that shed. She is going to go nuts for those live bugs tomorrow!

That's a fact Patsy. Poor little thing I feel so bad for her. she actually looks like she may be a snow dragon under all that stuck shed.I just put her to bed a few minutes ago and hope she's not cranky in the am for her bath lol-nothing worse then a cranky dragon. How is your cam; doing Bumble is it not? Have you spent more time with him??I would like to hear how he's doing-river-7

Well she slept until a few minutes ago and I just gave her a worm and her salad and when she wakes up a little bath time and a good soak- poor baby has stuck shed all over her-I don't think she's ever had a bath; Well she will hate or love me for a bath.I know when I gave her a good mist last night she just stood still and closed her eyes-and I think she enjoyed it. And looks like the sun is coming out so later this afternoon we will go on the deck for some natural uvb/uva and I have to go and get her a little hammock as she slept on the ground last night.I have a little log under her hot side and she still lies on the ground and then goes to the cool side-can't see the reasoning behind that.But I guess she will pick her spot as they know where they want to sleep.Will update after her bath-more stress but it has to be done and i'm sure she will be a happy camper after her bath and some good natural rays.river-7

Update we had our bath and she actually like it-I am almost positive that she is a snow dragon and has a little yellow under her chin and man was she dirty I actually had to change her bath water twice-she was that dirty. Can't believe somebody would let an animal get like that.she had pieces of dirt coming off-of her and not just shed. And I took her out on the deck as the sun is strong right now. So if I am correct she will probably have a little nap this afternoon sometime.If not well out on the deck again-She loves it there and layed on my knee-never once trying to run just enjoying the sun. I don't understand how people can treat animals the way they do. I am so glad she is in your care now and will be treated like a queen!

Bumble is doing okay. He's still not liking my hand in his cage so we haven't been able to get him out. I've tried hand feeding him and he just stares at me. We will keep trying though. He does sit in front of his tank and looks at me while I'm talking to him so I see that as progress. Someone on my cham FB page said yesterday that his just walked out on to his hand one day at 5 months. So there's hope!

Oh, yeah; Patsy;I told you it took 8-months for mine then he just popped out. but they do come out sooner or later just be patient.you know they can't hear you talking to them as they only feel vibrations such as loud music, or bangs on the floor ect; vacume cleaners and things like that.My new baby is actually basking after she had a good bath and last night she slept on the floor of her tank. I just bought her a repti-sun 10.0 spiral everybody did not have 22-inch holders for my tube light so I had to do the next best thing for her. And there is a 5.0 on her now so between the 2-she should be ok for awhile until somebody gets the right size hood for a tube light.And she enjoyed her bath and her natural uvb/uva.river-7

Patsy; Try giving 'bumble' a worm with your fingers-he might beard up but still hold the worm until he gets a good taste for that one special worm that he likes, then watch him run lol.river-7

Patsy; I feel this baby may have had her growth stunted as she is small for a 8-month old 'Cayanne' is just about the same size as her and her legs look very stringy-it looks like she walking on tooth-picks.I am hoping once the baby has good lighting and room to get around, and good food things will change.I just loaded her up with crix; and a couple of worms, and gave her -her second feeding of crix; I would say she has ate about 40-this far, just for her second feeding and when I come downstairs she was starting on her salad-collards, little carrot, and some squash.Tomorrow they will get dandelion greens, squash and just a little touch of broccoli, maybe peas.But I will say she loves her salads, and her bugs, and her worms. butter being favourite so far. I gave her a silk last night and I couldn't tell whether she liked it or not.But now we have a no poop situation, but I am not worried too much as I think she will go once she settles in, as I have been in and out her tank on a regular basis.I was looking at a bigger tank for when she doe's start growing and they had a beautiful 60-gal; one and it was sold yesterday but on kijiji-like craigs list they had a 90 gallon for $120.00 which is an excellent price. I would put 'Cayanne' in the 90-gal; and the new baby in 'Cayanne's tank now.I feel these people might have stunted her growth, but I am hoping for improvement.I bought her a hammock today in hopes that she will find it more comfortable then the floor of the tank.Try the worm in your hand but make sure you use a flat hand so he can see it's a worm and just hold your hand there he will take it i'm sure of it.ok, chat later on more progress-river-7

They probably didn't have her under proper lighting, they obviously weren't feeding her good. I think under your care she is going to grow FAST! She sounds like she is eating good. Don't worry too much about the poop right now. She wasn't feed properly before so give her a few days to digest all this food she's getting now. Just keep her hydrated and it should help get things moving through her system.

We have had a GREAT 2 days with Bumble! I opened his cage door yesterday and left the room for 1/2 hour and came back in to find him on the outside of the cage door trying to get on to my desk! I got him on my hand and took him out and let him crawl on me for about an hour, he didn't hiss or try to bite or anything. I went to the pet store and found a parrot playground with wooden dowels and rope and things so he would have something to play on out of his cage. This morning I left the door open again and my boyfriend started yelling for me, Bumble was starting to climb out on the door again so I went and scooped him up and took him to his "playground". He seemed to like it and while he was on it the BF made something for him to climb on in the window so I put him in the window and he played on that for at least an hour. He liked it so much we almost didn't get him off of it! I have a small repti-breeze cage that I want to get a plant for so I can take him outside for a bit. I took a great photo of him, i'll put up later in the day.

Oh, and I know that can't hear. It's just habit though, I talk to all the animals.

oh, wonderful Patsy; he finally took the plunge now you won't get him in lol.Once they come to you and have fun they are hard to get rid of.He will be on you all the time now and as slow as they move they can run to catch up with you, when they want to.So happy for you both. I use to talk to Spiderman even tho I knew he couldn't hear me as I talk to them all as well. With my senagal I wish I had never talked to him as he goe's on and on worst then the ever ready battery,Now when I go buy his cage I tell him where i'm going -the other day he said going pee- pee mommie, because I always tell him where i'm going lol.It would have been cute but I had company.oh, she pooped this am and it looked good so no worries there.I was going to bath her this morning but it's a little cool and raining so hopefully bath time tomorrow as 'cayenne just finished her shed, and she needs one also and it looks like she's going into another one. Man everytime I turn around she's shedding.So I put up an add for a larger tank for her so that she can run around a little better.Man some of these second hand tanks they want you to pay for the new tank price. 1-guy emailed me and wanted $250.00 for a 40 used and well used dirty ect; I guess not you can buy new over here for $239.00-i guess these people figure you don't know any different.but anyway I think she's doing well except she thinks there is another dragon on her hot side of the tank and I have carboard blocking off the side and she still see her self in there. Any ideas as to block that??river-7

We are so happy. We put him back in his cage and he is actually trying to get out again!

With my beardies I put the paper on the inside of their tank so they couldn't see their reflection. Although, mine are goofy and I always show them their reflection in the mirror after they get a bath and they don't get mad or anything, I think they like looking at themselves LOL!

Yeah; Patsy; I thought about white paper after I posted and put it in her tank.She has little lumps along side of her stomach; I think it was undigested food still in her and not eggs I hope.i would imagine with no uvb and eating very little this is how it's showing up. But she can run on her little legs to catch those crix; I watched her eat and she chased them down. I usually start feeding early, and then they can digest their food and ready for bed around 7-30 it works out good as they are up at 7-7-30 and the day begins. And the new baby was sound asleep this morning when I turned on her lights, then again 'Cayanne' was asleep in her net with 2-back legs hanging over her hammock.So I can't help but tickle her toes.what a way to wake up. But she's use to it. But man I have to get her a new tank like asap as she will grow i'm sure-I swear her little legs are putting some weight on-up at the top of her legs. but her head still is very bony.I guess i'm expecting to much to soon. It took 8-months to get this way so it sure will take a few months to undo whatever was done to her. I still haven't named her yet. The prior owners named her tiny
but I kind of want to give her something new.New home new name.River-7
