At what age will babies start shedding?

So Dexter had a day when his appetite went down, then he was back to being a piggy. This morning he only had interest in 1 tiny roach. He's pooping and it looks normal. He's active, but I've noticed the past few days he hangs more on his shaded side than usual. His temps are steady and haven't changed. I've tried to check to see if he might be starting a shed, but don't see any signs. Having asked I know BDs sometimes don't eat, but it's out of character for him. He's around 2 months now. He has grown since I've gotten him, but wasn't sure at what age they start shedding, what to look for, and if that might be a reason for his appetite to flux like this.?.? He seems too young to start shedding, but am not sure so thought I'd ask. Another thing I've noticed is that he's been more interested in the roaches than his crickets the last two days. That's odd for him. He usually devours crickets and only wants 1 or 2 roaches. Now it seems to be the opposite. Thoughts?

Hello, normally bearded dragons shed every 6 to 8 weeks till they are 1 year old so there's a good chance he might be shedding. Also could he be dehydrated?
Thanks Silver. I'll be on the look out for it. Wasn't sure at what age so that's great info. His appetite has picked up, but still not the piggy he has been the last few days. Not positive, but don't think it's dehydration. He does sip water throughout the day here and there. I do mist him, as well. Also, he does have a bit of white in his poop so he's peeing (well as much as they pee), but I'll keep my eye on that as well. Great help! Thanks again. :)

Hey Silver, you were right. Dex is shedding. He looked grayish, lightish this morning so I gave him a bath. When I checked on him shortly after he was all flaky. He's a little more so now. Not eating much at the moment. Any tips to help him through the shed? How many baths do I give him to help? One a day? Any other tips?

Mine is about a month old and is already shedding. But it looks like he is shedding! MAke sure to give him bathes more often and do NOT peel the skin. Sorry if that sounded harsh. It’s just bad for the new skin. good luck!

Thanks Sosemisa for the info. I did give him another bath yesterday afternoon. Lil guy looked miserable hanging out in the shade of his cave rock. He perked up a bit afterward. I didn't take it harshly. :) I've read other posts about shedding so did see where I wasn't supposed to peel it off, but helps to reinforce, I think. :)

Looks like Dex is having a hard time shedding his tail. It's flaky up near his body, but nowhere else and looks quite grey. I'm going to give him a bath this morning and use the soft toothbrush to see if I can't help get it going. Won't try to rub it off, but might be able to get it to start flaking. Hoping the water will soften it up, too. Crossing fingers.
