I would like to hear from owners on this. I have the above bulb also running heat bulb in tank. Now here is the question does your temps go up 4 degrees running both?

I have a 40B UVB is running whole length. I had temps holding at 104 without UVB on basking spot. As soon as UVB was on and running for a bit my basking temp shot up to 108. I turned of heat lamp and temp is holding at 9o.5 to 93.4. We have windows open today temps outside is 70 in house 73 to 75. I am taking temps with a Accurite digital with probe taped to basking spot. Would really like to know from others what there experiances are with this UVB and heat lamps.

UVB bulbs do put out some heat, generally not a lot. It may also be that the hood is now covering a portion of the screen, restricting some air flow, therefore retaining more heat. If your temps are 108F, I don't understand the problem, when 110F is pretty much ideal for a young BD.
