Anyone know a shelter in Chicago, IL

hello everyone. I am interested in getting a bearded dragon. Even though I really want a zero colored one, I don't think I can handle the super critical care of a baby. This will be my first dragon. I decided that I should probably get a juvenile or adult dragon. I would like to adopt one from a shelter in Chicago and was wondering if anyone knows any shelters? I have looked in Craigslist and all are in the suburbs and none in the city.

good luck, Mireha. It's great that you realize how much care babies require - you will find that adopting an adult is just as rewarding. I have acquired all 3 of mine as adults - no regrets !!

Yeah I adopted all my pets and all have been adults. I really want a baby to watch it grow and create a deep bond, but I don't know if I would be able to give it the intense care that it needs. I prefer to give an adult the love and care it needs I am even in the process of starting a superworm colony! (Worms are for my box turtle but the dragon can have some too).

Look up Friends of Scales. Join the Chicago Herpetological Society Facebook page, sometimes people have bearded dragons they need to rehome. Also, the Anti Cruelty sometimes has a dragon pop up.

I tried looking up friends of scales and the closetet one they have is in wheeling, IL :/
I will try the other 2 thank you!
