Today I have a house full of company and we were in the living room playing Wii when all of a sudden I hear a noise coming from our front door. At first I thought it was a neighbor in the hall trying to get into their apartment but then it got louder and the more I listened I realized someone was trying to get inside the apartment! The person tries even harder to get the door open and my husband's best friend opens the door and finds an old Spanish lady trying to get into the apartment. Apparently she thought this was her apartment. Our apartment clearly says the number on it and in order to get to our apartment you need to have another key to get into our actual building. We never saw her before and definitely isn't one of the people who live here (currently at least). So we think that the woman who lived her last (she was Spanish) tried to get back into this apartment because she abandoned it prior to us living here and they never changed the locks. Also, when we first moved in I noticed our washing machine was recently used when none of us had used it. I am thinking that she still came here to use some of the appliances because they never shut off the water and electricity and was trying to do it again today or even trying to see what we had in the house. *shrugs*

Personally I think if she even made it through the door she would run out screaming because of the bins of bugs I got and the lizards and the dog (even though the dog would lick her to death)

We have 3 deadbolts on the door and 1 normal key lock. Each lock has a diff key I think we are good. None of the locks are the originals except the one on the actual building which we can't do anything about

Weird. I'd definitely report it to management. Maybe they will change the building locks.

O no, thats a bit creepy.
Good that you put up the extra locks. Just imagine what was going on before you noticed *shudders*

Yeah it's a good thing we never leave without locking everything. I bet it isn't the first time she's tried.

She was saying she was sorry that she thought that was her apartment. I know all of the tenants in my building and she definitely does not live there

Well here's a new development on that unexpected visitor. Turns out she was a thief and was trying to get into a couple people's apartments and successfully got into one in the building across from us and stole a bunch of jewelry. My neighbor who's a detective for the town caught her and is in charge of the case now. The nerve of some people to do this mid day on a weekend. That just proves that criminals are lacking brains
