I inherited this beautiful beardy and unfortunately I'm unable to get a hold of the original owner for any advice. But I was wondering if you could tell me why he would always have one eye close or is it something I need to get him into the vet for?

I bought him a solarbright exotic pet lamp white mercury vapor and it's a UVA UVB Heat 3 in 1 and a bottom of black dome light to put it in dome light to put it in.

What is substrate and what substrate should I be using please.
Substrate is what's on the floor of the tank-- the solar bright is the one causing issues - please switch out to a regular solid clear bright white basking bulb examples are flukers basking - exo Terra intense-- or a Arcadia halogen- then you want to get a long tube fixture- I can post links for those if you like- make sure your using a digital probe thermometer to get accurate surface basking temps

As I previously posted on another thread I just now inherited this bearded dragon. This is the enclosure that he has lived in and I just feel like there's got to be better choices that I can make for him. I've read so many different things and one will tell me yes do this and another one will tell me no don't do that so I'm hoping to get some solid advice here.

So the following picture shows you the lighting that was in the cage when I inherited this bearded dragon along with a fluorescent long tube lighting and then the lighting on the left is what the lady at the reptile store sold me and told me he needed. Can somebody please tell me which one is actually the best because once again I've heard do use this, don't use this. Thank you all so much for your help and advice.

Please get some more basking decor -- two digital probe thermometers and is the UVB on or off in the pic? What brand and bulb for the UVB please? Surface basking temps should be 95-100 -- your getting ambient temps w/ the stick on -- please get this fixed as soon as you can

I posted on your other thread - this bulb is not a good bulb for UVB rays -- the heat is good - you want that long tube fixture for your UVB - I personally would get either a Flukers basking bulb or Exo Terra Intense or Arcadia halogen bulb for basking - please ask more questions I will help as much as I can - I see the dragon is not sitting under that bulb so thats telling me directly under it is too hot -- and the UVB needs to have a piece of decor directly under it but I need the bulb your using and how old is it? They expire in about 10-11 months --

There is a long uvb and I'm unsure how old it is. I will be switching out the other bulb and replacing it with the other housing unit and it will have the 100 watt reptile king intense basking spot in it. I also have gotten a probe thermometer and it says the basking area is 100 degrees right now.
