I was cleaning something up in my lizards cage one day. My lizard then bit me. Everything is fine but should i be doing something so this doesn't happen again... Is this normal.
First thing that comes to mind, is that you may have accidentally did something to startle/scare him.
Movements from over head, fast movements, tend to bring out the defensive reactions in dragons.
Hope this helps.
Janie
I have to agree with Janie. Beardies are not known to be aggressive creatures. I was bit once, but when I was feeding a piece of collard greens and Bernie made a mistake when he went to bite the collard. Or he was getting at me because he was on a salad strike.
Anyway, I think it may have been an action from being startled.
Usually it is just due to being frightened or startled. Most beardies aren't aggressive. There are a couple things though that can cause this other than the above stated. The temps being too high and sicknesses. As long as your temps are good and you don't think that there is anything strange going on, it is probably just the first mentioned and I wouldn't worry.
