Hi guys! I am looking into adopting this lil guy. She hasn’t told me how old he is yet, just that he is small for his age but she insists he doesn’t have mbd. Also waiting for pics of his enclosure. She wants to sell him and all his stuff to me for $175. I’m still learning about beardies. I don’t know this lady but he looks unhealthy to me? Am I wrong? Kind of makes me want to adopt him even more to take care of him, but there’s no cure for MBD right? And I don’t want to get attached to a dragon that’s going to die on me fast. Advice and opinions please.

And I’m not judging her at all- like she could have gotten him in bad shape and has done her best to get him healthier. Just wondered if you guys thought he looked like he has MBD or his eyes look sick or something. Because IF she’s dishonest about him having that then what else is she being dishonest about ya know? Just anxious and wanted opinions.

Find out why she wants to sell him-many people will try to get rid of their reptiles to avoid having to pay vet bills or because they don't want to deal with an unhealthy lizard. If she refuses to tell you, that's pretty suspicious. Ask for his weight, age, diet, setup, behavior, and ask her where he came from and how she got him. If it's possible, inspect him before you make a decision. If she avoids your questions or you suspect she's lying, she might trying to get rid of him because he has health issues or she could be a scammer. If you decide to meet up with her, do it in a busy public place.
There's not really a way to tell from the picture, the only way to be sure of his health is to examine him yourself. Check for soft/deformed bones, loud breathing, stuck shed, cloudy eyes, fluid in the mouth/eyes/nose, and make sure there isn't any dried poop around his vent.
