Acting different than normal

Hey guys! My bearded dragon Sylvester has been acting a little odd the past week. He hasn't been eating much of his food that I have noticed, instead he will just run over it and throw it all around his cage. He also has been constantly walking back and forth at the edge whenever I am not in the room with him. He will rub his nose against the glass and Sometimes he will slowly scratch at the glass. I made sure everything in his cage was good and nothing around him has changed to cause stress. He still looks super healthy and his colours are not dark. Everything seems normal, He is currently going through a shed on the top of his head but I was not sure if that could be the reason. Thanks everyone

How old is the dragon? Shedding would not cause the nose rubbing or scratching but temps and UVB could along w/ the scratching of the glass- the slowing of eating could be related to the shed-- what are you using for a UVB coil or tube? Brand an bulb and where in the tank--- top of screen or inside the tank? How big is the tank? UVB and basking temps are the most important thing in the tank and control their behavior and overall health

He may be trying to escape something in his tank. It could be too small or not have enough enrichment, or as Sadie suggested there might be a lighting issue.

He is around 11 months, right now I am using the reptisun bulb and it is on the top of the screen in a light fixture. The tank is a 40 gallon one. Ive been using the same tank since he was a baby. If I am sitting in the bedroom with him he doesn't do it but whenever I am not in the room he starts doing it again

I havent put anything new in his tank recently and it is a 40 gallon tank, could that be too small for him now?

Possible - hes wanting out but we need to rule that lighting out -- Reptisun bulb ? T 5 or a T 8? look on the bulb it will tell you-- basking temps what are they? How are your taking them? NO stick ons please they are inaccurate

It might be time for a tank upgrade if it seems like it's too small. You can also try giving him some enrichment with a treat ball, dig box, or a new climbing branch or hide.
