A little help

I was wondering how much a baby bearded eats. I've offered dubias, crickets and superworms. He just seems to eat a little of each but makes more of a meal out of the greens I have for him. When I first brought him home he ate 4 roaches right away but I figure that was because he was at the reptile show all day and problably wasn't offered much food. But today he ate collard greens, one roach and a few crickets.
Is this normal? He is pooping every day and it looks healthy.
Another note: I leave for work at 5am. I have a dish for his salad and a bowl for his roaches but I can't watch him eat in the morning. I do that in the afternoon when I get home.

With all new beardies they go thru a relocation stress period. Some won't even eat. As long as your little one is eating something you are doing great! Just keep doing what you are doing. Maybe write down each day what he ate and how much so you can see the progression. And with our baby I've noticed some days she will eat like a pig and then the next day she doesn't eat quite as much. We've only had her a week today so we are going thru the relocation stress too. When you need to worry is when they don't eat all at. Do you know what the temps are? Sometimes they don't eat if the temps aren't hot enough.

Thanks MX. That's puts my mind at ease a bit. My temps are 95 in the basking area then at night I have no lights or heat. It gets down to 76-78.

Okay so this could be an issue. With babies you need a basking spot of 100-107F with a warm zone of 85-95 and then a cool zone 75-80. If he's not getting hot enough he can't digest the food and he won't eat. Once you get those temps up, I bet his appetite increases!

At night you do NOT need heat. They need a cool down period. Unless your home or his enclosure gets lower then 65F he will not need heat. And no lights at all at night. The third eye can sense the lights and he could think the shadows are predators above him and not get good rest.

I try to get a temp of 105 at the basking spot. If they get too warm they can move away because it's cooler just a few inches away. A little warmer would help, 95 would be perfect for an adult but little ones need it to be warmer.
