Now, Sadie i know you told me to change the lighting in the tank but my parents refuse and say its fine. But im starting to get concerned, my beardie closes her one eye constantly and i rarely see it open. Its not just when she's basking either its all the time. I will attach a pic and it, to me it looks normal but i dont know. She is shedding right now so maybe thats why? BUt any advice form anyone would be great

Try to explain to your parents that the proper lighting setup is essential. You could try making a presentation about the effects of MBD and how poor lighting can cause beardies to develop it. Include evidence-statistics showing the differences in UVB output from different lights, advice from vets, articles written by professional keepers, beardie care videos, etc.

Probably not, there might be negative side effects by March. You could suggest doing chores to pay them back for the lighting setup, or you could ask for it now as an early birthday gift.

Fixture:
https://www.amazon.com/Sunblaster-9...N78KWNGDAMN&psc=1&refRID=CEC02128RN78KWNGDAMN is a good one, but expensive.

https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-terrarium-hood.html can also be used.

Walmart's website has some T5 light fixtures, but you may need to add tin foil so that it will reflect light. There are a lot of different sizes and options available.

Arcadia 12% bulb: https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/arcadia-12-uvb-t5-reptile-bulb.html

Reptisun: https://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-26061-Reptisun-Fluorescent/dp/B00AQU8HAO This one is on sale right now, so now is a good time to ask for it.

It does come with the bulb, I didn't see that part of the package. It's a pretty good deal for $50 (+$7 shipping).
