hi....i have a 1 year old male beardie who has recently refused veggies and insects. he is a little thinner now too, however, is very active. he is constantly scratching at his glass aquarium, pacing, and bobbing his head. he frequently darkens his beard too when acting this way...i've read many things that it could be, but am still confused...he is used to going out a lot, either indoors or out (depending on the weather). what has me most concerned is his lack of interest in all food and his becoming becoming on the thinner side...what is going on?

any and all input appreciated!

thanx!

Thanx! I will post a few pics shortly....but the short of it is:

He's in a 40gal breeder tank
He's offered spinach, yellow squash and seedless red or green grapes usually....maybe he's bored and I need to mix it up a bit?
He also gets superworms regularly
Always has fresh water too
I maintain a temp between 90-110F during the day
And he regularly goes to bed at 8:00pm...like clockwork...he's better at sleeping then my 2 kids...

This behavior started to happen off and on around the end of 2016, but got worse as Springtime arrived....(love is in the air, maybe), see, my hubby built him a stand near our front window, in the living room, he was very adamant about beardie boy "Jack" being able to look outside....(VERY distracting, I know, that's what I was thinking too, PLUS, there's the reflection issue here AND the fact he's also near our ALL glass front door)...Jack gets to see ALL the action and we call him our "guard lizard"....his favorite activity is watching the garbage men make their rounds once a week, and now, with Spring here, watching the lawn maintenance guys come around to the neighbors homes...he honestly gets quite excited over this!

We also have 2 adult FEMALE leopard geckos, but only 1 is within his sight range...(again, maybe a love thing? I mean, sometimes we date others with different backgrounds, so why can't lizards?)... JOKING.... :p

I honestly do not think he's sick...I've been watching his behavior intensely lately.
After posting my initial message, I tried some new tactics.
--I disguised his background with his artificial hanging plants AND closed the blinds (but he still tries to peek in between those plants!)
--I put up some rude blackout barriers on the sides of his cage too (on the outside, made by my daughter out of construction paper...seems to be working...for now)
--I AGAIN offered food...it was a NO GO on the veggies, but he did FINALLY eat 10 superworms sprinkledwith calcium...so YAY all the way here!
--It's been almost an hour now since the new tank adjustments, and he is happily basking under his lights...calmly I might add.

Maybe I solved my own problems here??
What do you guys think?

yeah - you might've gotten it taken care of! Too much to see can be VERY distracting. He may have been trying to get out to a place of safety - he felt too exposed. that and the "love is in the air" - my male is going ABOSLUTELY NUTS when my female is out (and he can see her)

Also, I forgot to add that in my original post, I was very vague and brief due to the fact Jack was crawling like a mad lizard all over me and my laptop....it's difficult to type with a psycho lizard running amuck...so sorry about that!

I hope that you have solved or reduced some issues by giving him some "privacy" lol I would suggest that you don't feed spinach that often due to it's high Vit A... Collards, turnip greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens, would be better staple greens.
