Capbo has something odd with his lips I think

As with all fluids being ingested via a dropper. Make sure you try get the tongue below the dropper tip. They have a hole under the tongue that goes directly to the lungs. So water down there could cause issues.

    Wondering about roaches

Obviously, you will get quicker results in the way of breeding when getting more at the start. With the dubia I went with roughly 5 female to 1 male. And had around 100 at the start. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4

Hi all, new here. Had a few questions

It's not about intellect, it's DNA survival. They know to drink dew from reeds, grass and leaves. And to take water through the vent in puddles and when bathing. Water is very unnatural to them. In fact, they can't take mouth fills of water as they don't have the muscles to close off their...

    Wondering about roaches

I breed Dubia Roaches here. All my reptiles love them. Even any boarding reptiles I have. My Rankin on the other hand. He's one fussy git. But like any food, variation is the key to maintain the health of your beardie. In this case, changing it up is good from time to time. Sent from my...

Capbo has something odd with his lips I think

Yes you are. I guess I could dig up some info. If it was in fact in a book I see the relative info. Google will have the info I should think, although I've not done a search on the subject myself. As this info is something I don't need to research. :-P .....just saying. Sent from my GT-I9300...

Capbo has something odd with his lips I think

There is much info about it I should think. Just do a Google search guys :-). I learnt about it all while doing a zoology degree and specialise in herpetology in honours about 18 years ago, with an internship at Munich zoo. Also a year out in Victoria Australia in which I watched over the work...

Capbo has something odd with his lips I think

LoL. Yes, did actually say "vent area at the back". So yea, base of the tail where they poop. ;) Reason being. The water they come across In the wild is often stagnant streams and puddles, and full of bacteria. If they took the water through the mouth, I obviously travels through their whole...

Capbo has something odd with his lips I think

Just fill the bath an inch or 2, and put like a towel or a rock so they can hold on to. They feel safer that way. Just make sure the vent area at the backis in the water. This is where they take in the water to hydrate. They do of course still drink from the mouth. But rarely. Sent from my...

Hi all, new here. Had a few questions

As above really. But a couple of additions. 1. No they don't get water through the skin at all. They take water through the vent when you bath them etc. Which you only need to do a couple times a month at best. Unless it's crazy hot (not so much here in uk). They take water through the vent as...

    Slower or faster when older?

As gill said. They do become the epitome of lazy when older. And why not. No stress, their own territory (Viv), own food, own basking spot. Don't blame them one bit :-) Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4

    Strange stool...

Where are you checking the temps?. And what temp are you calling fine?. You are needing a basking spot of around 40c/43c (sorry UK measurements). That looks like he's not basking enough, or the temp is not hot enough, as its undigested food. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4

    Worst vet ever?

Well you say that. But my current 3 year old Dragon was the opposite, he would eat more greens than live food by a long shot from birth, till he was about 1 and a half. Was about 10% live, 90% greens. Now it's the total opposite. And he's perfectly healthy according to my local vet. Who is a...

    Hide?

As long as they have somewhere they can escape the basking area and uv in the cool end all will be fine. Unless they use it all the time (when the uv Is on) then you may have to remove it. But sleeping and escaping the heat/uv for a couple of hours is fine. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4

    Cover for by Beardie's tank?

As Germ says. Those dial thermometers as well as the strip type, they are honestly good for nothing. Can be up to 10c wrong. And that really could be the difference between life and death of your reptile. As suggested, get a digital probe one. Even better, a dual probe one, so you can monitor...
