I'm constantly telling my husband we need to be careful what we use to cook and clean around our bearded dragons, especially because we don't have a large house where we could just move them to an area and close it off and it be good enough. So I wake up to a strong sent of some type of cleaner...
We have an air filter always running even now when there is no smoke. I will keep in mind a nebulizer if this ever happens again.
After I gave him the repitboost several nights ago, he hasnt coughed since. Not sure if that was a coincidence or if the reptiboost really helped. He running...
Updating you: I gave him some reptiboost last night. Not one cough today that I ever saw, and I was home all day spending lots of time with him. No coughs at lights out either :) Who knows what it was, but I think he will be ok!
Ok so we googled the air quality and they claim the air quality was good today. well, as soon as we opened windows, Lizardino started that coughing motion again and we started to smell smoke. It looked clear outside, but we shut all the windows again and turned back on the AC. He continued to do...
Yes we did what you said and all 3 dragons have one inside their tanks now. None of them go above 40. He hasn't done it today either. Definitely not seeing or hearing wheezing or mucous/thick saliva. We shall see if he does it tonight when the lights go off.
So my zero has been completely fine until wildfire smoke got bad here in Washington. We've kept all windows and doors closed, AC on, and an air purifier near the enclosures. I noticed the strange coughing the same day the smoke got bad a few days ago. Then it stopped for a couple days, and has...
It ended up vanishing by the next day. No clue now what it was, but there was a super sharp edge on her hide that we thought caused it, which has since been sanded off.
Dang I feel kinda sad it's a he after this long of not knowing. Guess I'll call him Dragolino instead. Thank you so much! You're always super helpful. You should get paid for your service.
So I always assumed Dragolina was a she because I didnt see her ever head bob for the entire first year in and her. Plus this dude who has owned bearded dragons for longer than I have looked and said yup, female. However, I just saw a guide for how to determine gender, and my little princess is...
Oh we know to never let crickets loose in any enclosures, or any feeder for that matter. I've read horrible stories about those eating a hole in their dragon :( Also, thank you for the advice!
Also, the brand of the hide was Penn Plax, which I believe they sell at a lot of pet supplies stores...
Yes he removed the sharp piece. It was inside the hide, so we didnt notice it until he took her enclosure apart and examined everything. It was super sharp so it must have punctured her. I read somewhere that neosporin is ok to put on wounds on bearded dragons. Is this true? If so, we will do...
So I think my husband figures out what it is. The hide he got for her had this little sharp peice on the inside on one of the corners where she likes ti hang out. He had to break it off.
