    Swollen front foot

She is doing great! Since we started the meds she’s growing so much! I need to find a new vet and get the blood done again, but I know the allopurinol is working, she’s a completely different dragon now!

    Swollen front foot

Thank you so much for all of your support, you and Staci on here have truly kept me going through all of this! Nora just keeps improving, I’m starting to see the swelling in her hand go down and she is more active everyday! She has been eating more too, so she’s finally growing! I am so glad I...

    Swollen front foot

I get her out every morning for a soak and to give her meds she usually poops and then eats and I put her back on her basking rock. She’ll stay there for a while, but always ends up in the hide by the end of the day. She has been moving around so much more since starting the allopurinol, I guess...

    Swollen front foot

She seems to be doing better. I’m not seeing a reduction in the swelling yet, but her appetite is completely back. It’s been pretty cold here in Utah and the sun hasn’t been out much so she goes into her hide a lot. Not sure if she’s trying to brumate, or just likes the dark and warmth the hide...

Happier tonight, she’s a snuggle bug!

    Swollen front foot

Finally got the allopurinol, gave her her first dose just now. It is .07ml daily. I have her on BSFL, is there a limit I should be giving her? She just ate about 30 of them. I just soaked her, and she pooped. This is gross, but does it look ok? It looks normal to me… but I’m just concerned...

    Swollen front foot

Finally got the med situation figured out. Vet is only going to put her on allopurinol and wait on the colchicine until after 30 days and a recheck of Uric acid levels. But I’m not taking her back to that vet, I’ll find a new one, I’m so unimpressed with this one. Anyway, I forgot to ask about...

    Swollen front foot

She only poops in her bath water. Which is nice for keeping the enclosure clean, but more difficult to see how much water is in her poop. She never struggles to poop, and I can tell the white is not chalky. I got her to drink a lot yesterday, so that’s good. The vet is still not cooperating and...

    Swollen front foot

Sometimes she drinks from the bath but I always drop water on her nose and offer it through a medicine dropper. I haven’t noticed signs of dehydration, but I’m keeping a close eye on her

To help keep her hydrated. But after reading a bunch of threads and doing some research, should I consider doing the subcutaneous injections?? I feel like I get a lot more answers here than from the vet…

    Swollen front foot

Yes, we’ll start both as soon as I can get the prescriptions… this vet is truly not the most reliable or kind in my opinion. I guess both meds have to be compounded, they were supposed to call them in to the pharmacy this morning, but they didn’t. Coincidentally, the vets office was calling them...

    Swollen front foot

Ok I got the results, when they said elevated I figured a little high… if I’m reading this right, she is over double the high end of normal!!!! We only did the Uric acid test not a whole blood panel because I couldn’t afford the $300 bill right now. The vet called me back later last night and...

    Swollen front foot

Finally talked to the vet. Uric acid levels are elevated. Going to start her in allopurinol and colchicine, plus fluid injections (daily?) under the skin to keep her hydrated and keep her kidneys flushed out. I did not get a copy of the blood tests yet, but I’ll have them email them to me tomorrow.

    Swollen front foot

I called again today, they said it takes a while to get the test results back… I was under the impression that they did the tests right there at their office, but I guess not. Her beard is normal color, I have been watching that closely. I soak her daily and give her drops of water from a...
