She's doing great. I've decreased the allopurinol to once a day and she's eating on her own and very active. I'm waiting to call the vet tomorrow to get exact instructions on what to do verbally instead of in text and to ask about everything she sent previously regarding the oil and vitamin a as...
Started out above 50 in October. Started syringe feeding and treated for parasites and dehydration. Tested again Early November and was at 25. Started iv therapy for hydration and allopurinol a few weeks later and she was on it for exactly 2 weeks and 2 days and we retested and uric acid was at...
@Drache613 I took Luna back to the vet on Wednesday. She has been on Allopurinol for 2 weeks and her uric acid levels went from above 50 originally to 25 and now they are at 1.5. Can she safely be taken off the Allopurinol now? I'm waiting for the vet to get back to me regarding this. I need...
Took Luna back to the vet today for xrays because her uric acid levels were stable but still elevated at the last blood draw. She does not have gout but some type of renal issue. Vet suggested a biopsy but also suggested that since she seems to be doing better to keep doing what I'm doing and...
where do you live? That seems like a lot! I paid about $350 each vert visit with bloodwork and the medication was $50 with shipping for tramadol. Food was about $20. I've spent about $2000 in the past month. I have care credit and put the vet bills on that and the rest on another credit card.
Ask for liquid food to feed if he isn't eating. This has been a very long and stressful process but she seems to be doing better so that's all that matters.
Luna seems to be doing better. She's finished her parasite medication and is almost done with antibiotics. She is starting to eat more and move around more. Waiting until she is done with antibiotics to take her back to the vet for more bloodwork.
Would the allopurinol help if it's not already significant damage and the beginning stages of gout if that's what's even going on with her? I'm over $1000 in and I just want her to be better and don't want to do anything that will harm her more.
That's why I was afraid to give her the antibiotics because of the possible renal failure. If the uric acid levels are going down then that's a good sign right? I am giving her the tart cherry juice mixed with water by syringe orally daily. I'm only giving 1cc. Should I be giving more? I'm...
