So far, he's grown about 5 inches since I first got him, and he weighs around 200 grams. He's also a lot easier to handle now. But everytime he sees my other beardie, Rusty, he goes nuts. Hopefully, if he gets bigger I could try breeding them, but we'll have to wait and see.
Yes, I still have Stubby. I was not the one who made that post on craigslist, and considering all that I've done for him, I would never give him away; especially knowing that he's been moved around so much. He's become one of my favorite pets. Could you post a link to the post on craigslist if...
Stubby's been doing great! He's really easy to work with now and seems to tolerate handling much better than he did before. He's always eager for food and he is shedding a lot. I have been keeping track of his growth, and he's grown a few inches. Right now, he's around 12 inches and weighs...
Yeah a humid hide would really help him with shedding. Have you tried feeding him in the evening/nighttime? These guys are nocturnal and will take food more easily during the night. I've never really had any problems with my leos and I wish I could be more help. Could you post a picture?
Yes, the length of the cricket should be no bigger that the space between their eyes. You'll probably want a smaller size cricket if your beardie's still a baby. For the salad, here's a good site to check out: http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html This shows you what to feed...
Well here are some pics of my stick insects.
Indian Stick Insect (My first species):
Pink-Wing Stick Insect:
Vietnamese Stick Insect (Nymph):
New Guinea Giant Spiny Stick Insect Nymph (My personal favorite):
I just got the giant sticks at a reptile show recently and I'm waiting for them...
When was the last time that you changed the uvb bulb? And if I were you, I would take out the sand. Beardies don't need to dig, so it's not really necessary to include sand.
Lol that's what my girl, Rusty did when she was younger. In fact, the picture that I uploaded for the photo contest here is the picture that I took of her when she was sliding around. (My picture is "K" btw and a few more votes would be nice :p)
I guess they could. But they shouldn't be a staple mainly because they're all shell and do not have very much meat on them. I breed stick insects to keep as pets. I say that they're better suited to be pets rather than food. Do you know if they feed their beardies anything else? It would be bad...
Yup I think so too. He doesn't seem to squirm around as much as when I first got him. I've been handling him about once a day and hand fed him a few roaches during his feedings and it seems to have paid off. He doesn't open his mouth or run to the nearest corner when you get close. He also grew...
