    Tail rot?

    Slight darker or shaded tint can be completely ok, as a normal reaction to excitement or being alert and focused. Or even thru the stages of shedding. But I noticed Jabba's tail tip a little darker than one day, which caused concern. So I gave him a warm bath, and rubbed most of the 'color' away...
