Wild Water Dragons living in my back yard

The photos all look the same really, but he does a lot of sitting around looking handsome - those are about the only photos I get!

All I know is what my last boss told me. He used to be the guy on the flight deck with the fire extinguisher. He was also a master of hyperbole. But I can speak highly of the dragons.

    He's not a pet - can I feed him?

This thread has kind of left the "diet" wavelength. I didn't realise there was a photo thread here, and I don't want to take up too much space on here, so I have put some pics of Big Daddy on the pictures thread. I will move my commentary over there, as I don't want to get in the way of things...

Only what the recruiters tell me! What did you want to know? You'd probably get more from this than from me: http://www.navy.gov.au/Main_Page Coming to join up and get some water dragons of your very own? :)

He's not very good at staying still for the camera, and he doesn't much like the flash. I call him Big Daddy.

    He's not a pet - can I feed him?

A journal would be cool. I am notoriously bad at keeping up with those things though. I took some pics this morning. He ate a couple of grapes and seemed to enjoy them, but didn't go mental. He must have eaten recently. His chest has gone bright red - looks pretty cool. You can kind of see it a...

    He's not a pet - can I feed him?

I went to the shops today and found some lovely discounted grapes. Big Daddy wasn't around when I got home, so I have yet to see what he thinks of them. I also got a big shallow tub and put some water in it for them. Not very deep, but I didn't want them to have trouble getting out. Here is a...

    He's not a pet - can I feed him?

Thanks Red Ink! I just went to the folks' place for easter and just about hit a turtle on my way back walking across the road - how bout that? Anyway, Big Daddy was running around getting all sorts of exercise this afternoon when I got home. I threw some tomato to him and he glared at me. I...

    He's not a pet - can I feed him?

Well, there are three or four of them around. How probable is it that a couple escaped and bred? There was a baby one here when we moved in (October) as well as a couple of middle-sized ones and the big fella. The smaller ones are all very shy and run and hide in trees when I go onto the...

    He's not a pet - can I feed him?

Ah, thanks Crypticdragons! I thought it was a beardie and did a google image search but all the beardies on there looked more like the pics you guys have up. I couldn't find any stripey ones like Big Daddy (I've taken to calling him that). I wondered if he was just a very different stripey...

    He's not a pet - can I feed him?

Hi guys, Janie, I'm pretty sure it's not a frill - but then, as I said, I'm not familiar with reptiles at all, so I could be wrong. Definitely, he's never flared up at me, even when I go into "his" territory. He's pretty fabulous though - I couldn't think of a cooler lizard to have in my back yard!

    He's not a pet - can I feed him?

I'm in Auchenflower, pretty close to Brisbane City Centre. I wouldn't know the first thing about dragons really, but I'd guess Eastern coz Brissie isn't really central. I have a photo of him, but I'm also not good at forums and can't figure out how to put it up! He's got stripes.
