Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

I thought I would post an update on Edgar/Beardie! He's looking a lot better after a few months and grew a couple of inches, his color has really come out and he's super friendly (though I don't handle him as much as I should) Thanks again for everyone's help :)

Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

So far he's doing a lot better than when we first got him, he's put on some weight and I've been watering him daily and he hasn't laid in his water bowl since! He's been eating fine and everything, thanks! :) I dust his crickets every day with calcium, not sure if it has D3 in it or not though...

Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

Yeah, I'm thankful for all the help I've gotten from everyone on here! One more question. Edgar lives at my boyfriend's house. His mom fed him an earthworm the other day that she found in the yard without asking anyone if it was okay (I know as a common sense rule that that's something you...

Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

Good to know! On almost every caresheet I looked at I didnt see anything about humidity. His tongue is still pink last time I saw so hopefully he's not too dehydrated. Thanks! I'll water him more and try the half gatorade/half water.

Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

Sometimes when he sits at his water bowl he opens his mouth like he's drinking but his head is above the water, so I give him some water then. I also put water on his greens every day. How often should I water him normally? I will try that, thanks! I have a gauge that reads temp/humidity but I'm...

Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

Just a little update on Edgar and one more question! His new bulb is doing fine and he's getting upgraded from a 10gal to a 20gal this weekend! Don't worry, he'll be getting bigger tanks as they become available/as I can find them, but because he's so tiny a 20 gallon will be fine for now...

Yeah, we decided to check that after the bulb blew (we should've checked before, oops) but the lamp said it could use lights up to 150w and we were using a 100w bulb, but now there's a different brand light bulb and a different fixture being used, so hopefully all will be good now. Thanks! :)

I didn't know that, that's interesting. Thanks for that info. Got him a new heat light today and I turned the heat pad off! I should be getting him a 20gallon tank sometime this week, I think that'll make him happier too :)

Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

I've been getting the exo terra infrared 100w basking spot bulbs, but after 2 broken ones I'm trying something different! The first one broke when my boyfriend put the lamp down on the ground and his shirt that was on the floor caught on fire and then the bulb just popped. The other one worked...

Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

Edgar is doing okay, yesterday and today he hasnt eaten much, which worries me a little. But I think he's doing fine! I bought a heat lamp for him the day after I got him and it broke so I took it back and got a new one and the day after I got the new one it broke too! So he's been without heat...

    Two story enclosure?

I was thinking about transform my turtle's old (cleaned) tank into a tank for my bearded dragon. The tank is 20 gallons long. I know beardies aren't arboreal or anything but I wanted to maximize room in the tank. my guy is apparently 2 years old and about 7-8 inches long, so from what the...

Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

Even though I'm not sure of his gender, the name Edgar keeps popping into my head for him, we'll see if that name sticks though, but I think it's well-fitting! Walmart was first on my list of places to go tomorrow, so thanks! Thanks for all of the help, you guys helped me to help make Edgar happier!

Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

I got a heat light for him, bought the 10.0 Reptisun UVB light and thought I had the right fixture for it at home, but didn't, went to Lowe's and they didn't have it either, so I'm trying a few other places tomorrow. If none of them have it then I guess I'll just go back to the petstore and buy...

Newly Adopted Beardie Looks A Little Sad

I'll pick some up tomorrow and try that, thanks! I'll also keep a look out for frequent sheds and I'll try multiple cricket feedings a day. I'll keep trying until I figure this little guy out! If it is a baby, how old do you think it is based on size? That's awesome, had no idea there were...
