Never fun to post in this thread - But I lost another Beardie last week, I thought it was a male and named him Rex, until she had 26 eggs one day and became known as Rexa or Rexalita.. Well she had a another round of 20 something eggs and I think she was compacted because she had a sack of them...
Yea its sad, I called 3 vets here in Dfw and none of them had any experience with Lizards.. I loved having 2 Beardies but either I dont know how to take care of them or Im just cursed. Im a Fish guy so I think IM selling all of this stuff and done with Beardies for now. Great Pets but they are...
Well a follow up to this egg issue, she had a lot of eggs and then she tried again and I think she had pushed too hard and had a issue, I read about it cant remember what it was called.. I see a sack of eggs hanging off and she has been very lethargic, not eating, and sleeping all the time... I...
She finally came out and I decided to make an area that she can dig in and lay eggs.. This look ok to do something like this - she still needs a bath ...
So following up on the above - Im considering adding the play sand / topsoil as a ground level addition instead of using the black mat Im currently using. If I put like 2-3 Inches and maybe a hill like 6-8 inches in would that be ok as substrate ? Im just tired of cleaning this damn thing out...
So Rex ie Trex wasnt actually a male it seems - haha !! Rex had about 26 eggs about a month ago and the last few days was digging in the bottom of the terrarium so I made a box with play sand 70% / organic topsoil 30% and she went in today and laid several more eggs... I dont think I got a big...
So Rex is doing fine but he's annoying me a bit lately. Unlike my last dragon he likes to PooP in the hammock and not on the floor. So every day I come home I have to clean his hammock out. Bad thing is I have it mounted and screwed into the side of the terrarium and it's hard to clean it unless...
I lost my 1st Beardie this past week somehow and I have no idea how but she wasn't eating for a few days and I came home from the store and found her dead. Its hard, we put so much effort to make them feel comfortable and then they die and its like WTF ! I got over mine passing and cleaned the...
Sorry for your loss - I just had one pass on me and its hard. Especially as I don't know what happened or why she died and was only around 1 years old...
These guys are fun so I didnt wait long to get another one after my last ones untimely demise.
Meet my new Buddy Rex, I was told its a Red Morph Beardie so maybe he will have some nice colors when he gets bigger..
