UVI Readings with Arcadia 6% and 12% in the same cage

I’m not sure iv never tested a powersun, what is your make (Zoomed,Arcadia, etc), size (T5, T8, etc), and % (6%, 12%, 14%, etc) of your UVB lamp?

    Dubia Colony

I keep mine in clear totes and keep all the ages together, when the colony gets too big for the tote or I want to start another colony I just pull several adults (male and female) and several assorted size babies out and place them in a new tote. I have found that if I put a good mixture of...

UVI Readings with Arcadia 6% and 12% in the same cage

The one you posted reads in the UVA and UVB wavelengths, that’s not what I personally would want. You could have a cheap lamp that is out putting “great“ readings but they are on the wrong wavelength and in all reality your reptile isn’t getting any UVB and you think they are. That’s one reason...

    Dubia Colony

I keep my Dubai’s in the mid to upper 70’s year round. They seem to reproduce the most at these temps. Hotter or colder and they SLOW down. I also mist the egg crates in their cages every morning when I feed them to keep the humidity up. They seem to like that. I leave their lights on probably...

UVI Readings with Arcadia 6% and 12% in the same cage

I guess it’s the nerd in me, I really enjoy data acquisition and I enjoy knowing that my numbers are accurate. I have years of data (temp, humidity,UVI, supplements, feeding schedule, feeders, weight on all of my chameleons and all of their babies. Not to mention all the info I have on breeding...

UVI Readings with Arcadia 6% and 12% in the same cage

WOW!!!! Sadie please do a little more research on the difference between a T5, T8, and a T12 lamp. You’re really starting to sound like a fool with your posts. I’m not trying to be rude but please understand the difference between a T5, T8 and T12 lamp before you post some silly comments about...

UVI Readings with Arcadia 6% and 12% in the same cage

Hey everyone here are some pics of some readings I took with my solameter just for personal knowledge. I have an ARCADIA T5 6% lamp and an ARCADIA T5 12% lamp. Both are new lamps and I let them warm up for 30 minutes before I took my readings. Also they are sitting directly on a screen top. Iv...

    Male or Female?

Awesome so I have a girl!!! Now I need to research how they lay eggs!! My chameleons need a laying bin and privacy when they are laying. Im excited to see how bearded dragons deal with clutches.

    Male or Female?

Ok here are some more pics at an angle if these aren’t right I give up lol. Thanks to everyone for their responses.

    UVB Reptisun

All of this is great info but until you have a solameter and actually take some readings in your setup you are just guessing. I haven’t found any post that actually have UVI readings from a meter. I’m not saying they aren’t out there it’s just that I haven’t found them yet. Every lamp made has a...

    New Dragon Setup

No ma’am it’s just a lamp for lighting that’s all. The lower the ”K” number the more yellow the output is, the higher the “K” number the more whiter/bluish the output is. It’s just a safe lamp to use to brighten up your enclosure without adding heat, UVB, UVC, or UVA.

    Male or Female?

Here is a couple of better pics maybe?

    New Dragon Setup

Good deal I will check out some shelf liner and tile and see what I like best. No ma’am if you look at the pic it’s 1 6% lamp and 1 6.5k daylight lamp it’s not 2 6% lamps. Thank everyone for the info. I’ll also pick up a couple of digital thermometers for the basking and shade side of the cage.
