It’s been a while since we visited the forum but I thought I would post an update on Broly (who is now just over a year old!). She is well and happy - although she has become one of the dragons which HATES salad!
Hey, you don’t need to dust BSFL with calcium but regarding the multivitamins / D3 if you’re giving this twice a week (on only one feeding per day) you could just dust the crickets with it. Have you considered getting Dubia Roaches? They have more protein than crickets, are cleaner, don’t smell...
Emilia helped with a lot above :) And yes; that UVB needs to be changed ASAP. The recommended length for it is approx 70% the length of the enclosure. And with a reflector. The T5 ZooMed ReptiSun or Arcadia bulbs are best. The 10.0 for reptisun or 12% for Arcadia are both recommended. And it’s...
There’s no need to apologise - it gets confusing! I used to kinda assume a T8 would be stronger just because it was a higher number, lol but it’s just the mm of the tube thickness I believe. T5’s are generally better than T8’s so for someone without one or purchasing new a T5 is preferred :)
From what I know - T5’s are higher output than T8’s. T8’s should be inside the vivarium around 8” from the beardie. T5’s approx 12-15” away from the beardie (without screen blockage - I presume screen blockage would mean they should be a little closer). And yes, the 10.0 is deffo, the 5.0 is not...
Hey, a size upgrade would be good :) And like the member above stated, a bigger hide (if he’s unable to get inside comfortably). How are you taking temps? I can see one digital probe thermometer but it’s at the back of the viv. Also, it’s hard to tell with pics sometimes but your basking bulb...
Thanks! Now the basking spot is resting at 101-103 she’s been basking with her mouth open for longer periods than before (when the temp was fluctuating). She seems pretty happy :)
Ok, so I’ve left it a little longer and very slightly raised the basking spot by putting a slate tile under it and we’re currently sitting at around 101. (83/90/101 on the gradient). Those with more experience, would you say these temps are sufficient? I don’t have a gradual basking spot that...
Hey guys,
So it’s only really just dawned on me that our basking spot temp fluctuations might not be good for our beardie? She is happy, healthy, eating, pooping, hydrated, etc etc..
But I started to wonder if it’s not good for them to have temperature fluctuations? Our thermostat will only...
Hey I don’t have any info or help regarding this but I’ve seen a few other threads on here with lots of info you could search for and read in the meantime :)
