if youre bio not necessarily with sterilization. but stay 50+ feet from roads and stay away from areas that use pesticides/fertilizers and if you arent sure stay away.

so while i was out of state my BD was living miserably, my parents would not listen to me and let things go big time. hes obese now, they never picked up poop (for 10 months) and they never misted or anything. so i came home to a red basking bulb, extremely dirty smelly substrate, and a balloon...
a different uvb is needed, you need a tube t5ho UVB. temps are okay but the basking spot needs to be 100-110°f. try collard greens, dandelion greens, mustard greens, spaghetti squash (cut up)

based on previous reptiles owned im assuming the husbandry (UVB/heat) is proper. first things first is id try and get a fecal if possible. try some bee pollen on greens too to see if he takes it and switch up the greens maybe

maybe try the bigger bath tub but with an actual towel or wrap him in said towel before he even goes near the tub then set him in it while hes wrapped in the towel.

might not be the water, it could be the fact he has no traction, when you put him in the human tub put a towel on the floor of it so he has something to grab on to instead of freaking out

no problem, theres another part to this hobby called bioactive, its all about creating a naturalistic environment along with a mini ecosystem. highly recommend looking into it in your free time, its interesting

yes, wood since you’re probably not doing bioactive you wanna sanitize it by baking it in the oven at 200° for a few hours

so the thing is beardies have this spot on the top of their head that detects light, coming directly from above may scare into thinking youre a predator. try and go on on the opposite side of the tank and make sure he sees your hand before you pet him, like slowly move it towards the front of...
its not so much a matter of age, in order to have loose substrate you have to be 100% positive that the rest of his husbandry (temps, humidity, feeding) is really on point. even with that, i would never do 100% sand, id do a mixture of play sand and organic top soil and wait until hes an adult...
i was just informing you sheesh. i could answer the question about something i know nothing about but you wouldnt like that would you?
