ok so marley has finally woken up. he's been asleep for almost 5 months and he was only around 6 months old when he fell asleep. when I noticed he'd woken up (stuck his head out of his cage) I left him to it for 24 hrs to wake up properly before turning the tank lights back on and heat too...
I don't have an answer to your question but my marley has been every so often shaking his back right leg. not for a long time, its more of a jerk than anything. was wondering if that was the same as what you're referring to
I'm guessing that our summer ( uk) is Australia's winter. Being on the other side.of the world and where they come from. Could be wrong. Mlim just guessing here. Lol
My bd didn't have a clue. She went to sleep. Then after 2-3 days she woke up. So i restarted all the lighting again. She was really docile and didn't do much for about a week after she woke up and then decided to go back into brumation again. So i shut everything down again. This tine it was for...
when i relocated my beardie from the shop to my house (only time ive had to relocate her) she did the same. wouldnt eat for a weeek and rarely moved out of her basking spot as she was yet to have explored her new tank.
hey everyone, thanks for all the help and its nice to hear other peoples experiences too. :) just to give you an update, after sleeping for only 3 days marley woke up, when she woke up i gave her a couple of hours on her own just to make sure she wasnt just getting comfortable before turning all...
mine did the same, i put a bit of fake leaves from pet shops in it and made a corner of my tank a little jungle climbing frame so she has makeshift tunnels between the leaves and high places to climb. she knows some crickets escape there so she goes off into there a lot and loves climbing on it now.
hi everyone just an update. she's finally figured out what to do and has gone into brumation. i shut down the tank two days ago and she's been fast asleep since.
typically she hasnt found the best spot to take a nap. she's fallen asleep vertically wedged between the viv wall and a piece of...
I know it varies but how long do they brumate for ? Once the viv is shut down and she asleep, is there anything i should do? How would they survive without food or water for that long?
I have a pet dog but she doesn't go into the room with the viv in much. So i would say that's not a factor in this. My dog foes into the room with the viv once every two weeks for maybe an hour at the most.
i read last night that you can interrupt the brumation process. Is this recommended or...
shes about 7-9 months old now. not quite sure what you mean by husbandry specs but i'll try to answer as accurately as possible.
18/18/48 inch viv
basking buld with a basking spot temp of 110 ft
calcium sand
feed her locusts mostly but sometimes crickets and meal worms

hi everyone, im not perticularly worried at this stage but would like reassuring that nothings wrong so i wanted to run it by the forum.
the last two weeks marley has become inactive and has gone into hiding in either its cave or behind leaves in the vivarium. its sometimes doesnt come out for...
