Lack of uvb can cause seizures along w/ other neurological disorders- we need to go over the uvb as posted earlier- I need to know how tall the tank is and a 35 gallon tank is too small for adult dragon he needs to be in a 75-120 gallon

Well apparently looking now I have the wrong uvb and the closest petstore doesn't have those so I'll have to order them and the tank I'll have to order as well which will take several days sadly

How tall is the tank- and what do you plan on getting- this will determine the uvb fixture and bulb-- for a 40 - 120 gallon you want a 24" fixture-- the bulb for a 35 gallon depending on height a T 8 possibly if it's real tall you will want a T 5

I think its going to be 40 gallons but now he's keeps having a seizure like every 30 minutes now so I gave him more water and calcium to see if that will help him

He cannot absorb the calcium your giving only correct uvb can do that- what are you using for a uvb? No coils especially the 13 watt- tomorrow take him outside for some good uvb if your temps are 65 + degree+ 15 minutes or longer sitting on you

I'll definitely take him out tomorrow I just feel so bad and upset to see him so sick cause he appeared to look so healthy and then the next day so sick

That's their nature- they will hide their illness for as long as they can and sometimes you can correct it or stop it from the way this sounds I am thinking it may be too late -- but get him in some direct sunlight tomorrow for as long as you can it will help but I am not sure what to do about the seizures now-
Look for a reptile vet in your area www.arav.org
Use a bigger city zip code close to you if your in a small area

That's what I'm thinking cause when I saw him in the shed with no light he was really sick then and I told them it was a 50/50 chance he would make it and got him home and he perked up so I thought he was fine and acting healthy up until 2 days ago.

Good uvb and correct distance and placement is crucial along w/ good basking temps taken w/ a digital probe thermometer-- those control the overall behavior and health of a dragon- I am so sorry he is so sick the dragon had a hard life before you stepped in -

Well the one I have now that the vet said was good and it's number 2 on the list of best uvb lights is this one but from what I've been seeing this isn't good but all my lizards sit really hight to the uvb when they bask

I am sorry but those are the worst- please get a long tube fixture 24" for a 40+ gallon tank w/ a reptisun 10.0 T 5 bulb-- ASAP-- I will post more info on that coil later. You want a Zoo Med fixture

The first picture I sent
Those are
The first picture I sent
Ok so yes those are NO good --- please replace w/ what I posted earlier ASAP-----
here is some info on those bulbs
The best UVB light is a ReptiSun 10.0 fluorescent tube HO (Or Arcardia 12% in the UK). Compact or coil bulbs do not emit the proper amount of UVB light for a bearded dragon, and should not be used. Other brands, such as the Zilla Desert Series and ReptiGlo have been known to cause eye problems and other health issues with bearded dragons, and should be avoided. The reason that some UVB lights (Zilla, ReptiGlo, coils/compacts, ect.) are considered dangerous is because the wavelength of UVB that they emit is shorter and more intense than the wavelength of the "safe" lights (ReptiSun, Arcadia). UVB lights should be replaced every 6 months. The T5’s are a strong bulb and only need to be replaced once a year – the T 8 every 6 months--- where as the T 8 are not as strong—they need to be placed inside the tank the T 5 10.0 bulb approx 12-15 inches from basking spot – the T 8 approx 6-8 inches from basking spot—the cover needs to be off the bulb for full effect of the UVB rays--

“Coil” “compact uvbs are bad :( i have NO IDEA why vets “reptile Specialists” and others recommend them, they are AWFUL, they offer too much uvb in a concentrated stream or little to none at all, they hurt dragons eyes among other things, what ive attached here is considered “best” you need a long tubular uvb, to spread out the uva/uvb,….. I hope this is all just a lighting issue and hes not sick :( , he’s definitely in a better place now that he has you, dont beat yourself up, uvb took me a little while to understand….

Im sure the seizures arnt new, if possible try to microdose him when giving him his vitamins and calcium, you dont want to flood his system, but do ramp it up after a week or two, lizards are alot like birds when they’re sick all you can do is give them love and comfort sometimes :( im shure if hes struggled for this long, he still has a lot of fight left in him…
