No prizes, no themes, just the prestige of the monthly winner being displayed prominently on the main Page for a Month & in the stickied 'Past & Present Pic O' The Month Winners' thread in the Site News Section.
The aim of these Contests is that the Photos are judged and voted for on their own merits & to avoid personal 'Popularity Contests', the submissions must not have been previously posted recently on the Forum, will be posted anonymously and must remain so until the Winner is announced.
To enter your submissions, they must be emailed to - [email protected] - , include BDF Username in the subject line.
Rules:
- Received & accepted entries will be posted anonymously. Entries discussed elsewhere on the Forum by the person submitting the entry, so as to reveal the entry owner, will be removed from the Contest.
- Entrants must be Registered Members, prior to the individual Contest Post time, to be eligible to enter. Please don't try to work the system by registering multiple accounts. Members violating this, will be disqualified from this and future contests.
- Only photos of real, live Bearded Dragons, that are owned\kept by the submitting Member, will be accepted, no drawings.
- Photos that have been posted publicly anywhere on the forum, including but not limited to, Avatars, Signatures, Threads, Profiles and\or Posts, within 15 days prior to the start date of the Contest are NOT eligible. So please consider this, when thinking about posting a pic that you may want to enter into these contests.
- Clear Photos only. Blurry, poor quality photos will not be accepted or posted. Please email photos full size. Please do not resize them, photos will be resized if necessary, to 768px 'High' &\or 1024px 'Wide' by the Contest Admin to fit & all be uniform, prior to posting.
- Photos can be cropped, but otherwise, No Photoshopping or other photo enhancements, clear natural pics only. This includes having the Camera settings to 'Vivid' or any other similar enhancement setting. Any submissions deemed to have been obviously enhanced, at the sole discretion of the Contest Admin, will not be accepted. Decisions Final - No Discussion.
Tip: Misting your BD, giving it a warm Bath or natural Sun, just prior to taking the photos, will naturally bring out the colors.
- Entries must be entered by 20:00 (8:00 PM) PDT of the 20th of the month, late entries will be entered into the following month's Contest. A Voting poll will then be added to judge the entries by popular vote. Anonymous Voting will take place for 7 days from the Voting Thread post time. Single vote per member. Winner will be announced, posted & displayed on the Home page, by the 1st of every month.
- One submission per member, per month. Past entries, that have not been entered in the immediate two previous monthly Contests, may be entered again. Winning Photos may not be re-entered.
- In the event of a tie, tied winners will be posted and given 24 hrs to pick numbers between 1-50, winner will be the one with the chosen number closest to the number generated by http://www.random.org/ . Tied Winners failing to sign in and pick their number in the allotted time, will constitute forfeit? If all tied winners fail to pick numbers, the next runner up will be chosen as the 'Winner'.
- Bearded Dragon Forum reserves the right to do as they wish with photos entered.
