How old is the dragon and how are you getting that temp of 88?

14 months. And with a temp gun. 100watt bulb
Ok temp guns on hammocks are inaccurate - you need a digital probe thermometer to get a accurate surface basking temps-- you want those temps 95-100-- they will not eat w/ out accurate surface basking temps and uvb-- no coils please

Ok we do not have coils we have uvb in tank. And we usually run a 150 watt bulb which seems to help but it burned out will go get another this week. What type of probe do you suggest. Also thinking of upgrading tank size so hate to buy new if not right for bigger tank

Zoo med digital probe thermometer- found at pet Smart or on line like pet mountain or pangeareptile -- your uvb is brand and bulb please? Tanks can be found on FB marketplace but you want one w/ front doors- there are several websites I can post if you like

The temp is too low; it should be 95-97 for an adult 1 year or older and 100-105 for a Beardie less than a year old. Also, make sure u are using a clear bulb for heat. The zoomed CLEAR basking bulb is the best. Never went use colored or coiled bulbs!! Also change the UVB light every 6months otherwise he will be lethargic, unable to eat, move or walk & he will get MBone Disease. The best UVB light is the long tubular one and it’s called the Reptisun 10.0 T5 make sure it’s the 10.0 NOT the 5.0 beacise it emits more UVB; the 5.0 barely emits any. U can only get this from Amazon, Carolina Cages or a specialty pet store. Petsmart & Petco don’t carry the right one. The bulb u order should cover 70 percent of the cage and should be placed starting at the basking side and he needs a hideaway for sure to get away from it once in a blue moon if he chooses to. Also, if his poop is soft and not oval and firm; then he has a parasite or the temp is not hot enough. You can take a stool sample to the vet; it’s $45-50. Remember also keep the cage super duper clean; pic up the poop rite away; they like clean cages & no food particles or water should be left in the cage at bedtime.
