Hello,

My name is Brian and I am new to the world of bearded dragons, I was introduced to them last October when my oldest son wanted one for his birthday.

I was able to get him 2 adults from a co-worker and I have been amazed by them ever since.

We have a male and a female they are 2 different types which I am learning so excused me if I get them wrong but she is a leather back I am told and he is not.

A few weeks ago me and my wife saw what we thought was them fighting but was not and then the female named Lilo was pregnant by the male named Stich.

Next thing you know last Friday Lilo laid 20 eggs which are now at our local reptile store incubating but we are not sure how many will make it since they said it was her first time and they were small.

And if that wasnt enough my wife came home with 2 new baby bearded dragons which we now call Toothless and Lea ( I am a huge Star Wars fan)

Here are some pics.

welcome. they are addicting. are you housing all of them together? ya know - each should have their own tank. as you found out : 1 male + 1 female = many babies. not only that, but one of them (not necessarily the male but probably) will become dominant over the other. this could mean fighting for food, fighting for the best basking spot, incessant mating, aggression and so forth. there are reports of 2 beardies co-habitating successfully, but when they dont - it's REALLY UGLY !! please please please keep them separate. The babies, too.

I have to agree with Canicke. It's scary thinking what could happen when not paying attention.
And trust me, they are ABSOLUTELY addicting! I'm having to fight my desire to get another and it doesn't help that I have another 40g tank sitting here empty either hehehehe.

Your dragons are beautiful. As the others said kept together the male is going to mate with the female and could eventually kill her because he will mate her to death. Now that she has laid eggs you need to take steps to make her healthy again. She wasted a lot of calcium on those eggs and needs to build her stores back up. You can add some hard boiled egg whites to her diet and some oral calcium.

Another note, a 40 gal tank is minimum for one bearded dragon to live comfortably. It's a little crowded in there for two.

I have to agree with Patsy, I have one currently in a 40g. I'm getting another, possibly, today, he'll go in another 40g I have as well. babies (if any) will need to go in another tank (doesn't need to be another 40g).

Thank you for the advice the 2 adults have been together for years however they were not treated right but they are kind to each other, however the female is the dominant one in this situation. The babies have been taken to our local reptile store until they hatch.

As for the 2 babies we bought they are in a separate environment from the adults.

Thank you for the advice and we did not know about the hard boiled eggs but will gladly add those to her diet.
