I went with a half dirt half tile (ish) sides of my tank. My beardie loves it so far. Any opinions? Tweets I need to change? I have eco earth and walnut shell as the loose substrate. Her basking spot stays at around 98 F and her cool side is around 75 to 80 F. I used rocks to use as a “border” Thanks in advance!

She also has a 100 wt heat bulb and a 13wt UVB. She is almost three, and she eats Kale salads and super worms with the occasional waxworm for a more supplemented diet. She also gets worm guard once a week and calcium and vitamins every day or every other day.

I think its really nice, if you could get taller rocks and give her at least two inches of substrate, that would give her more to really dig through, and when she lays eggs it’d be nice if she could make a little hallow, does she get any other bugs? Hard bugs?

Your tank is beautiful ------------- the walnut shell not so hot on that one --- the rest is good --- the 13 watt UVB is terrible I haft to say --- your dragon is basically getting NO UVB w/ that bulb please replace it w/ a long tube fixture 24" Zoo Med or a Sunblaster Nano or a Arcadia Pro T 5 w/ either a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 or Arcadia 12% bulb and please do this ASAP-- I would also look at upgrading the tank to a 75-120 gallon tank your dragon has outgrown the one shes in ---- but you have done a beautiful job w/ whats shes in :)

There’s barely any walnut in there, op also mixed it and it looks like op added water to it? it’ll rot eventually and wont cause an issue, its okay, an all walnut enclosure is bad though i do agree.

What do you mean by hard bugs? Like Dubia? She gets dubia roaches as well. I forgot to mention. Also… when should she lay eggs? She is three and hasn’t showed any signs of being gravid. Could she be infertile?

I have been looking for a long uvb and my brother keeps telling me to get one (we share the beardie). I was going to get an 18’’ uvb. Is that ok? I will order it ASAP! Thanks!

Shes a little big, Get out a kitchen scale and put it on grams, if she’s heavier than my beardy then id cut the fatty bugs for a bit, i bet she loves her supers.

In regards to her being infertile, since shes got alot of morphology going on its a high possibility, they usually show signs by year two if they’re a “late bloomer” , my dragons a year and a half and is showing signs of digging, but no eggs.

She actually only weighs 536 grams. ;() I am kind of relieved she may not lay eggs. It would stress her out (and me) ;)

Get a 24" fixture like what is posted above when you get it post back on here so I can help you place it- distance and placement is crucial+ dragons may or may not lay it depends on the dragon if you order the proper t 5 get the 12% bulb

I went with a 55 gallon from petco with a imagitarium screen lid the screen is made of steel so it holds even the best of the lizard escape artists i like it i wouldve gone too 75 but they were out before i got there so 55 it is for now

And i agree with sadie above a good uvb light especially longer lengths will help his bones stay good and strong preserve his health in general and i switch them out every 2 months if i get a small one the longer bulbs 12-24 inches every 3 months theyre bigger so they stay good longer too me
