So i bought a bearded dragon from the pet store which they said was male, and my sister bought the other which was female. I checked out their vents the other night and the "female" first pic i can easily pick out 2 bulges, which is a male. The second picture the "male" which is alot bigger than the other for being the same age ( supposed to be about 7 and a half to 8 months old" accept i think it might be a female now that the other looks to be a male. I have seen the smaller one black beard and bob and i have not seen the larger one blackbeard yet. The little one will go on top of the larger one alot when basking however when eating, the larger one will get more food and go for it quicker.

I was really only looking to keep 1 bearded dragon, the one that i bought might be a female? ( hopefully you guys can help me out ) but i wanted a decent size beardy but also i wanted a male one, so i am not to sure which i would keep now then..

Here is a third picture of both of them together in high quality

Black bearding, waving & the like is not only characteristic to one gender, so is not a reliable method at all. It is not a good idea to cohabitate & never a good plan to keep 2 BDs of different sizes together, let alone male & female. Please view & read this from start to finish ...

Beautiful Dragons by the way

Can you post up some more pictures for us to see? Pictures need to be a little clearer and brighter.

We were told by the original pet store owner that we could keep as many females as we wanted together so long as the habitat was big enough. After much stress we ended up separating the two and still haven't worked out what exactly to do with the little man. You really don't want to stick more than one bearded dragon in a cage no matter the size or sex. I'm just glad we figured it out when we did and there wasn't any serious damage done! (It was the females we have had the most trouble with). The first one looks like it could possibly be male, but need a better pic. The second does look pretty straight forward female. Gorgeous animals, both of them!
