So my bf get a call this mornin off his brother to say he wants rid of his beardie. No for any reason other than he dnt have the time for him. Hes a lovely beardie and i dnt wanna c him go to a pet shop so im debating buying him. He doin us a really gud deal £100 for beardie.n all his set up lights ect. The only problem ive got is how Diego will react to him will he hate me for me bringing another beardie home. N will they b ok together. Borris is about a month older than Diego both males n both very tame. Do yas think id b ok doin this or will Diego hate me coz he is my baby and he come first. So any advise tips any thing will really help me out. Is more than1 beardie a gud thing or a bad?

I have 3 dragons they are all seperate but enjoy seeing each other. Two males may try to dominate one another so letting them meet can be dangerous. Your baby won't be mad at you just asking as they both get attention you will be fine.

Take him. If he goes to a pet shop, they won't treat him good. There was one bearded dragon male I saw that was really sweet when he had an owner who cared for him. His owner turned him over to Petland because he couldn't take care of him. The beardie became aggressive at everyone that came by. Bearding up and all, hissing, and everything. Had stress marks and was dark all the time. I prayed for him to get adopted or rescued. He was adopted.

The thing is: He wasn't happy because he was in a small 5 gallon tank, bad lighting, etc. I felt sorry for him.

He's better off with you than some pet shop. Diego won't hate you.

Diego won't hate you. He may give you lots of sad dragon eyes when he sees you with the new guy but he will still love you! Dexter and Luci closely watch each other but Pretty much don't bother each other. The other day Luci ran right up to her nose to nose and kissed her and ran away!

Well that didnt go very well. So my bf went n got Boris n b4 he had even seen Diego he was very black bearded the blackest ive eva seen a beardie. So i told my bf to leave Diego in his viv for a bit to let Boris settle dwn but of course hes a male and cnt follow a simple task. So he gets Diego out n puts him dwn near Borris. Black bearded Borris was not happy n was head bobbing away at him, Diego didnt seem all that bothered n eent to walk away n Boris attched him n bit the bak of Diegos head. Diggy not hurt at all n really wasnt bother by Boris he didnt hace any stress lines n had a nice light beard. So my bf kept hold of Boris while Diego had his usual run around. There was lots of head bobbing from Boris n a bit of arm wavi.g from Diego.
So this has threw me off slightly. I wanted tuem to b friends i no beardies dnt like a companion but thought he mite have liked a play mate. But never mind think we still gunna get Boris tho hes such a lovely beardie wudnt let him go to a pet shop. So our 1 beardie will b 2 by tue end of the day i think. Think till Boris settles in c we wnt hurt him we will have to get them out on there own but maybe, hopefully in the future we can.

Oh wow, someone is MAD! I would give him some time to settle in. If his tank is all glass, cover 3 sides of it so he can't see out and just get comfortable to the sounds of his surroundings.

I got Luci a year after I got Dexter. Dexter gives him the evil eye and stares at me when I hold Luci but so far there hasn't been any aggression. We bring the two of them out into the living room and Dexter always sits on the back of the couch and Luci sits in the window about 2 feet away. When they do get close to each other, it's usually because Luci runs up to Dexter. Luci newest thing is "kissing" Dexter when he walks past her which is so adorable, but there hasn't been any head bobbing, waving or hissing yet. Sometimes Luci will walk over Dexter and Dexter doesn't like it, she squirms underneath him as if to say "EWWWW, get away from me!"

So Boris went home over an hour ago n his dad just told me he still very black bearded. I know beardies dnt really like each others company but is it normal for company not to stress a beardie out coz consideri.g it was Borris that bite Diego. Diegos very happy n his usual content self where as Boris is still very black n stressed n he bak at home in hia viv now? I was really throw by the whole experiance. Diego is my first eva pet let alone first reptile n i know they all have there own personalities but they reacted so differently.

Poor Boris. He probably needs some more time to get used to his surroundings. Boris was trying to show off his 'dominance' to Diego. Least Diego's all right. Just hope there's nothing like a cut or a bite on his leg.

Boris only caught him on the back of the head its not hurt him or marked him at all. We gunna bring Boris and his viv here in the mornin and give him some time to settle in. Where he is now he is in a room on his own n only gets out a couple of times a week so all he see ppl as is feeding time. So we r hoping after a week or so of him being in our loud child friendly home he will like the constant contact and being able to c us. Just gunna rake it slow with him. Not gunna get them out togetha again until Boris is completely settled. Il post sum pic of him n his viv 2moz.

Thanks for all the info. Dnt think it bothered Diego tho so thats all i wanted.

Ok. Glad Diego's not hurt at all. Boris sure looked angry in that photo. Black beard and all.

Yeh i no i neva seen a beardie that black the poor little thing.

Me neither. He'll probably get over it. Allie has been that black before was at the vet. She was so mad at her, she puffed out her beard, turned black, and hissed at her. Moment she got to me, she ran to me and crawled up under my neck.

It's tough to put males together. They have all those hormones telling them to be dominant. I think keeping them separate is the only way to keep the peace and prevent the black beards. Good luck!

Allie had a rough time settling in when I got her. She wasn't healthy when I got her.
