What are those two holes on beardies head?

Hello,
Just had a question, what are those two holes on the sides of beardies head? They look like gills. What do they do? and Lastly, is it ok for them to get wet in bath time? :

As Brian pointed out, they are ears. I would not fill the water higher than their shoulders, so they can keep their head above water. However, if your beardie goes for a swim, he/she is fine.
