hey guys iv had my bearded dragon for a week now. he rocks but i still ant maneged to pick him up, he all ways sits on a branch and its hard to get by him. i have been hand feedin him and then i was tryin to pick him up and he opend his mouth. i wasant shore if he was thinkin i had more food for him tellin me to back off. he has done it a couple of times and i just saw him doin it again and i am know were near his viv. oh he walked up my hand to get to his branch so i dont think he is scared of me. what do you think he is tryin to tell me?

Give it time. You've only had him for a week. Most dragons go through a period of relocation stress. You are new and so are his surroundings. If he is young, he will be skittish until he realizes that you won't hurt him and things are going to be ok.

The best way to pick up a dragon is to lower your hand slowly in front of him. Rub his chin. And slowly and gently move your hand under his body, starting with the chin until your fingers reach the underside of his tail and your palm is under his belly. Gently scoop him up.

thamk you. i have stroked his chin but he is still a bit nervous of me and im still getin used to him, we both make eachother jump if we move to fast. i do think were getin better but wasant shore when he opend his mouth
