i feed dubia roaches as a staple. they are full of goodness. Easy to keep and don’t smell when they die. Feed them in a glass bowl so they can’t escape into the viv

Black soldier fly larvae are a good choice because they are very high in calcium and don't need to be gutloaded or dusted with calcium. The issue is that they are small, so beardies will eat a lot of them, and they can get expensive fast. Sometimes beardies will eat them too fast and they'll come out undigested in the poop. Dubia roaches, as Knight suggested, are a great source of protein. They're also a cleaner, quieter alternative to crickets that can live over a year, so you can buy enough for several weeks at once and not have to worry about them all dying.

BSFL are great for babies and a nice supplement to dubia roaches -- use them as lures to the salad bowl you will need a ceramic or glass bowl so they can escape
