I saw two baby bearded dragons for sale on Craigslist. They're in horrible condition and so I bought them and am picking them up next Sunday. I have dragon experience but never with ines this sick. From the looks of it they have metabolic bone disease and tail rot, maybe other stuff. Any advice?

I don't get how people can neglect animals. When you get them home, start with a good warm soak to get them cleaned up and they maybe will drink some water in the tub. Go easy with feeding protein, I would start with maybe some slurries with healthy greens and calcium and probiotic mixed in and then slowly add bugs to the diet. It takes a lot for the body to digest protein so you don't want to shock their system if they are too weak to begin with. Schedule a vet check for next week to see how advanced the MBD is and the vet will probably give a calcium shot and some liquid calcium to take home to give them.

Ok, and how about the tail rot? the owner said it was just tail nips from other bearded but I'm not stupid and that looks like really bad tail rot

Yeah that does look like tail rot. It could possibly be caused from a nip that didn’t get treated or heal right. They will probably amputate part of the tail, but the vet would know better what to do. I have a rescue that is missing part of her tail. I don’t know how it happened but it has no affect on her. She is the sweetest lizard I have ever met.
