Ok so glad I found this site! I have a 40 gal tank Zoo Med starter kit, I know I messed up buying a kit but too late now. My light setup from what I’ve been reading is no good, what size fixture should I get? Basically have 36” for lighting, so would a 24” be good? With basking light sitting next to it? Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you found this site, too! Good to see you're not using the sand. You want about 2/3 of the tank covered by UVB, so 24" is good. Make sure you have a t5 ho 10.0 Reptisun or Arcadia bulb. Both it and the basking light should be shining down onto the basking site.
