Pinworm treatment question(s)

Our Vet just prescribed metronidazole for pinworms... Is this a normal treatment?
(I expected an anthelmintic & was surprised by the flagyl prescription.)

* Can pinworms cause 100% liquid diarrhea?
She tested positive for pinworms, but negative for giardia, coccidia & other cooties.

It's possible for Pin Worms can cause Diarrhea, but normally they cause itching. A whole lot of scratching and really makes the animal miserable. And - you need to be careful and really wash everything especially your hands, clothes, shoes, etc. - not sure if the reptile Pins are the same as the mammal Pins - I think they are -you DO NOT want to catch them.
