Hi everyone!

I am a brand new mama to a lovely little girl. Her name is Princess Peach (we have a sulcata tortoise named Bowser so kids wanted to stick with the Mario theme lol). So a little background, I am the third owner. My brother in law rescued her off a craigslist ad from a gentlemen who was being deployed (thank you for your service!). My brother in law has 4 beardies already so they asked if we could take her. I have never in my life owned a bearded dragon and our sulcata is only 5 months old. They are housed entirely separate and require completely different environments and temperatures/humidity so they haven't even met yet and probably won't for a long time. I'm excited to be here. I'm not going to lie I was a little hesitant after reading up and doing research (I have a cockroach phobia) but I am determined to do whatever I can to give this little girl a pleasant life with us. I know I will have a TON of questions especially since I don't know exactly how old she is. No one does but she is fairly small. She is probably a juvenile from the looks of her shes definitely not a baby. She is currently in a 20L tank with cover. Basking area has a temp of about 100-105. I have newspaper down instead of sand because I know all about impaction, something I have to watch out for with the Tort, she has a water bowl incase she is interested and my brother in law gave me a bunch of super worms who are currently being gut loaded as we speak. She has a fresh salad of dark greens in the tank with her, and I plan on dusting her feeders with calcium every other day however I'm not sure if that is too much or too little. Please advise, it would be greatly appreciated. I am all ears to constructive criticism on her tank set up and diet. I want to make sure i'm doing it right and who else to turn to then long time enthusiasts!

Thank you!!!!!

Welcome! So a few things, scoot your UVB bulb so it's behind your basking bulb. They need the two lights to overlap to process D3 into Calcium. Also get some sort of hide so that he can have a place to escape to if the world gets to be too much for him.

As far as roaches go, I am terrified of cockroaches and growing up in a city my boyfriend and I have had a lot of experiences with infestations in houses. Dubia are different though. They look like little water bugs and they are content just crawling onto a piece of cardboard and hiding out. I got over my phobia when I realized that they are the best feeder. Wearing gloves when handling them helps too.

At the bottom of my comment is a link to different general care information that we put together as well as a food list.
