Hello all! Brand new dragon mom here. Bones has been home for a week today and so far is doing great! He's my first one and I'm learning as we go. He's eating really well right now. Loves his supers and peppers. He's a little iffy on some of the greens but we're working on it. He loves to climb and does whenever I let him run around.

Any advice I could get would be awesome! Thanks!

Welcome! Just be careful with the supers, they have a higher fat count and they are like crack so your baby can get fat real fast eating just those. Gaining too much weight too fast can cause fatty liver disease. I would feed other bugs too like dubia roaches, silkworms, even crickets are okay.

I talked to the breeder I got Bones from and he said he would help me get set up with some. I was just a little confused since I've had some people tell me they just feed their babies Supers. Thanks for the tip!

Alot of people feed them supers because that's what they give along with mealworms in the pet stores as that's what they have along with crickets.. Supers are easy to house/maintain. But yes they need to be fed in moderation..
you can take a look at the links below several of our comments and we have put together a ton of info for new comers and in there we have a table (of sorts) showing the fat % protein % as well as other ratios to use to compare food items.. Also we have the link for food items that most of us use.

He gave me a list of stuff to get to set up my own colony and he's going to run me through it. I'm going to go pick up some crickets to use. Maybe I can get him to eat them. I know he's not a huge fan and runs from them the last time I tried to feed them to him. But, maybe if I put a few supers in there with the crickets.

You could get him used to them by putting them in a glass bowl and see if he will eat the crickets that way. Crickets can't climb the smooth surface of the glass.
