I’m new to bearded dragons and I found this forum to hopefully meet other bearded dragon owners for tips and advice on caring for my dragon. I am a gamer and I try to spend as much time with my dragon as I can. This is my little buddy Reptar. He’s still a baby, only a few months old but he’s such a cool animal to own. I hope to get to know other owners in this forum and share our love for beatdies together. I live in North Carolina btw.

Welcome to the forum --- the first thing to owning a dragon is the husbandry of the tank meaning UVB-- basking temps and how your getting them digital probe thermometers only for getting basking temps - please NO coils for UVB NO colored bulbs NO heat mats or rocks and NO sand--- the lighting is absolutely crucial for your dragons over all health and behavior --- I would limit the out side time of the tank - he needs time to acclimate to his tank and surroundings --- you want your dragon active basking and eating -- if he stops eating all together that is a problem --

I’m glad that you’ve gotten a beardie and are wondering about their needs!

when feeding your beardie remember to feed them veggies, i know a lot of people who are shocked at the idea of feeding a ferocious beast veggies, but beardie s love veggies! when they are younger they need more insects then veggies, but as they get older they will need more veggies then insects. Beardies have different tastes in veggies, my beardie hates anything red, but loves kale and cilantro!

good luck with your beardie, also it’s good to spend time with your beardie so they become used to you! :D
